Picture, Quote, Movie Quiz #3

“Keep the sand out of your weapons, keep those actions clear. I’ll see you on the beach.”

WHAT MOVIE IS THIS?   A lot of training on a stable runway to take off of a bobbing runway, all to spend half a minute over an enemy capital.

  2. I knew 1 & 3, but I've only seen SPR once. Would have missed it without seeing Anonymous's response.

    1. It is not a very memorable line from the movie. Initially, I associated the quote with "Sands of Iwo Jima" for some reason (probably the "sand" part of the quote).

The first time I saw "Saving Private Ryan" I thought it was pretty great (I viewed it with a relatively uncritical eye at the time) but each time I have seen it subsequently my opinion of the quality of the plot and acting has diminished a bit such that I now view it as a significantly flawed film. So perhaps it is not such a bad thing that you have only seen it once.

  3. First thing I thought of as well was "Sands...". But I didn't remember the Wayne saying "see you on the beach".

I must be the only person that didn't care that much for SPR after the first viewing. The beginning, yes. Oh my good Lord, what those poor guys went through. But after that...there was this huge void in the middle and then the final battle. Meh...

  4. The quote is by Capt. Miller in the Higgins boat on the way to Omaha Beach.
